I don't get tired of Tombstone either, guys; a great movie.

I'm still finishing up The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones Volume 2.

The mini-movie series really hit its stride in these episodes, and especially the episode where Young Indy meets Dr. Albert Schweitzer in Africa strikes home with me. Schweitzer talks about his life's philosophy, the reverence for life, and why he began what evolved into Doctors Without Borders. The man was a fantasic inspiration to Indy who sees the futility of the war effort, and leaves his infantry command to pursue work in the French Intelligence, hoping to stop World War One or at least ease the mounting casualties through effective espionage. Along the route, he meets Fokker (no, not the Ben Stiller character) but the Dutch guy who invented many of the first German fighter planes, who presents Indy with a very different philosophy - one that war is good for human progress.

I'm jealous you have those boxsets of Young Indy, Tycho. I've been eyeing all 3 of those for a while now, but they're WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too expensive. I know the show might be "eh" at times (so I've read at least) but i'm a nut for historical documentaries and stuff and from what I understand, those boxsets are loaded with LOTS of docs and whatnot.

Guyute, the shows almost always very good and there are not only a lot of historical docs (I learned so much!) but the actors in Young Indy have now included:

    • Christopher Lee
    • Ian McDiarmid
    • Pernilla August
    • Catherine Zeta Jones

Amongst others. I could have sworn I saw Jason Bateman, but I didn't confirm it.

I just watched The Lost Battallion.

The Plan...between bathing, changing and bringing baby to be fed. Interesting little tale with maybe a bit too much clips from the show, but enough new footage to make me want to add it to the DVD set (unlike Razor looking back since it was later included in 4.0 grrrr).
Star Wars & GI Joe Customs
HAVES: HK-50 Head, Capt Typho & GI Joe fodder available still
Wants:L8-L9 Head, YVH-1 Complete (as possible),R7-T1 Complete (as possible),R7-Z0 Complete (as possible)

"Where the Wild Things Are"- I am very happy to say that I am very pleased that I went into this film thinking it would be iffy, but I came out having enjoying it very much. It's a fun and interesting look at childhood and not only accepting who you are, but realizing how ones actions impact the lives of those around you. Max starts off highly obnoxious (I wanted him to get a whippin' with a belt), but through the wild things, realizes what his actions are doing to his family, as well as the things themselves.

The voice casting is great and Max Records is also pretty solid. I did really enjoy the SFX as the creatures look very much like the do in the books and they do look pretty realistic and not overly cartoony. I do have a few grips though. The first being that the film does drag as they just seem to do random stuff for plots sake. Also, why are the wild things so unhappy and angry? Why do they need a King to rule over them? They're wild for petes sake! Still, these issues don't take away from the film too much. Overall, very good flick. Rating- *** out of ****

Ambassador Spock’s failure to prevent the destruction of Romulus has major ramifications on the timeline in the fun 2009 science-fiction film Star Trek.

A special unit drops into occupied France to hunt and kill Nazi soldiers and winds up taking part in the decapitation of the Third Reich’s entire political high command in Quentin Tarantino’s 2009 war movie Inglourious Basterds.

"Zack and Miri Make a Porno"- Rogen and Banks are pretty interesting together and the film is pretty hilarious for 3/4 of the flick. It takes a predictable turn with the love story. I didn't enjoy this part as much as it's pretty obvious from the beginning and the film loses a lot of its humor at this point. Still, it's enjoyable for most of the time and the cameos at the beginning along with the 'Dawn of the Dead' references are hilarious. Rating- **1/2 out of ****
