I'd have to say it's a toss up between the rise of Kyle Katarn in Dark Forces and the rise of Luke Skywalker between the Dark Empire era and the Crimsion Empire era.
Looking for CW 2010 Sidious and TX-20...if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. thanks
Every day I'm shovelin'...
Well, now that the Fate of the Jedi series is over, there have been many "series" of SW EU (meaning two/three or more books in the same storyline) novels over the years. Here's a little Bel-Cam ranking, for those interested in reading them/avoiding them/disagreeing with them.

"May the 4th be with you?" "Why yes, thank you for asking."
You're being too generous with the "Prophets of the Dark Side" series, BCJ.
I don't know I'd say the whole NJO was bad. It was inconsistent, with some really high points and some really low ones. I think it averages out better than "bad."
Tommy, close your eyes.
I read Shadows of the Empire back in 1996, when it first came out, and I didn't hate it. So I guess I would choose the period between ESB and ROTJ as my favorite.
Hey, how else would we have learned about Hologram Fun World? And the b****** child Trioculus?
Nineteen books to end the way it did? Too long, far too long. Yeah, there were some decent parts, but some were a waste of dead trees (or e-book Cloud space).![]()
And there were some direct connections to the LOTF series, which wasn't much better.

If you need a "quick" reference to all the EU eras, you just GOTS to read Pablo Hidalgo's brilliant compilation, SW:The Essential Reader's Companion; all 470+ pgs of it. There's a short, but very complete, summary of each story, with the main characters and planets featured, all divided by with chronologically presented (and current up to books written by 2012). A great resource, better than the SW Encyclopedia.
