I too think this will be the case. I mean this is how Lucas makes his money. First we had the Original Trilogy, all of which came back to theaters twice, then each were released on VHS, and then they went back and made THX versions of them all and released those on VHS. Not to mention Laser Disc and VHS letterbox versions of the movies. Then the Special Editions were released in theatres and then released to VHS in both wide and pan-scan formats. I would expect nothing less than archival versions of all 3 OT movies to be re-released before the DVD comes out. Then once Lucas has been satisfied with making another $billion dollars from the OT he'll release all 6 movies in a fancy 12 disc set with tons of extras for about $200.00 a pop. Not a bad way to make yet another $billion dollars off us poor SW fans!Originally posted by JEDIpartnr
after another rumour was thrown out there for us...
I have pretty much resigned myself to the fact there will not be any DVDs until after Episode III...
He will probably re-re-re-re-release the whole bunch of them out to the theatres one more time before he trots out the collection on DVD.
The only thing that I can say is if any pre-quels Episode II or III are released to a theater with a Digital Projector, you be sure that I won't be paying the $20.00 a pop to see the movies. I'll wait for the DVD thank you very much!
