This is a really, really good album. Maybe even a great album.

I didn't want to see if there was a RATM/Audioslave thread, even though "Nightwatchman" is the stage name of Tom Morello as a solo artist, because the music is so vastly different from either of those groups. His guitar work is no less amazing here, but it's entirely acoustic, very folksy.

I'd go so far as to say this is a folk record, in the vein of Woody Guthrie--scathing social commentary accompanied by sparse instrumentation.

A few tracks have been on earlier compilations in different versions, but most of the album is new, and incredible. I doubt this will get much, if any, radio play, but it deserves to be listened to over and over.
