    Sights of Celebration IV

I posted about 150-200 photos in the SSG events coverage of Celebration IV, that's about 1/4th of the total photos I took actually. Here's links to what I uploaded:
Anyway, I'll be posting a recap of the show as I saw it and be explaining and pointing out some of the pictures I found most interesting, but I wanted to preview with the following 3 ludicrous pictures:

    http://photos.sirstevesguide.com/sho...23622&cat=5351

These are 3 photos I took on Monday at an hour before the show closed, 3pm PST. That's the curtain behind the table handing out the exclusive Hasbro McQuarrie Droids 2packs - they were literally giving these away with every Monday badge purchase - and you'll notice that behind those curtains are more cases of these figures with just 1 hour till the store closes... the 3rd picture shows that it's actually PALLETS of cases still shrinkwrapped! I think someone overestimated their chances, as Tarkin might say.

Oh, and can you really go wrong with a preview picture of Boba Fett about to take off in his REAL rocketpack? I don't see how! http://photos.sirstevesguide.com/sho...23617&cat=5351

And finally, from the Fans section which is mostly costumed fans:

    Kid Lando is da Man-do!
Darth Vader is becoming the Mickey Mouse of Star Wars.

"In Brooklyn, a castle, is where dwell I"
The use of a lightsaber does not make one a Jedi, it is the ability to not use it.

That kid is great! But it instantly conjured up images of "lil' Star Wars Buddies" ala Scrappy Doo with the whole Star Wars gang running around, solving crimes, foiling Vader's evil schemes (ala Wile Coyote) every week.

so did you try to grab one of those cases, JT?

that whole Gen Con CIV store was a study in overestimation, i'd say. they didn't even have that many items, especially since a lot of stuff was already sold out by Friday and yet they had this vast amount of space. it was rather surreal when i went directly from the ultra cramped Gentle Giant lines over to the CIV store.

Well, somehow this project turned into a writing juggernaut on me, and in the end I produced this article:

You might say it runs a little long.

Have you been reading Lucas' notes for the live action TV show?

After the troubles I went through with store security on Thursday, never! You'll have to read my feature to find out what I'm talking about.

They overestimated store demand and underestimated attendance demand, very unusual. I think Lucasfilm gets to share the blame there though. For example, the amount of space the autograph area ate up in relation to the exhibit area was embarrassing, not that the autograph area should be marginalized, but they took up over half of the hall! That's crazy!

So, it dawned on me to break the recap up into days, which took most of them down to just 3 pages each. The first link is the same as before, I just replaced the story that was already in it, but here's all 5 stories if you want to those links:
JediTricks' Celebration IV Recap - Day 1
JediTricks' Celebration IV Recap - Day 2
JediTricks' Celebration IV Recap - Day 3
JediTricks' Celebration IV Recap - Day 4
JediTricks' Celebration IV Recap - Day 5
Darth Vader is becoming the Mickey Mouse of Star Wars.
