The POTJ Lando is superior in too many ways to that figure. The head is better, the sculpt appearance overall is better and the cape is better. I wouldn't want this figure reissued, regardless if it had a removeable cape. If it had to be rereleased though I'd give it a new sculpted cape rather than softgoods.

the VOTC lando figure is the best sculpt that has to be reissued and retooled for a removable cape!

this is a figure that needed a much improved, movie accurate and even much better articulated figure without getting new parts! all hasbro can do is add the arms and feet of vintage luke x wing pilot to the dutch body. they got to do the same thing for biggs and wedge (he needed a movie accurate helmet from dutch!)

Nah, I disagree. Articulation doesn't automatically make it a better sculpt. Firstly the articulation has to be well-integrated into the figure and on VOTC Lando it wasn't. The swivel elbows are horrible as is the ball-joint neck. The neck is too long and too bulky at the base. The face sculpt is poor compared with either the POTF2 or POTJ. The arms can't be posed by his sides properly such is the nature of the shoulders and the swivel elbows. And the cape is horrible, removeable or not. He needs a plastic cape or a cape like ROTS Count Dooku which is a rare example of softgoods that has a semi-natural looking drape.

The legs are good. Thats about it.

While it's an impressive list, I don't think stuff like this really does any good. It's just too long and I doubt a Hasbro rep will take the time to read through every single name. I know I just scanned through it myself.

It's better to remain focused on a specific groups of figures (like Rebel Pilots, Ewoks, or Skiff Guards), or individual figures (like Luke Snowspeeder, Yarna, Kithaba), than to try to make an all-inclusive list that no one will read.

I agree with that. In fact, articulation is the enemy of sculpting in figures this size. The less articulation a figure has, the better it's sculpt usually is, because you don't have joints or cuts damaging the look of the figure. But of course, people want articulation so it's always a trade off between how much poseability can you give a figure without completely ruining the look of the figure.

I've noticed that some of my all-time favorite figures have no knee or ankle joints whatsoever. I like them because they are just great sculpts of the characters.

For example, the OTC Dagobah Luke. To me, he's a great figure even though he's essentially a statue; but he captures the feel of Luke Skywalker perfectly in my opinion. Now I wouldn't mind ankle articulation on this Luke, because it would solve some standing issues when Yoda is on his back, but I think ball-joint knees, elbows and shoulders would completely ruin the look of this figure.

This is a GREAT list. Thank you for putting it together. A few years ago, I began to create a list like this, only I was collecting screen shots of every character from every scene in all three OT movies. Alas, it was very time consuming and I have been very busy with so many other things in life so the project was never completed. I was finding each character with every different "look" and, when applicable, matching the screen shot with the Hasbro action figure version of the same. And when there was no figure, well, it would be something to hope Hasbro would create at some point.

While "improved" versions of previously produced figures is welcome, I personally would prefer that Hasbro invest the time in creating all of the unproduced characters first before revisiting already produced characters. I really don't need any more Vaders, for instance. I think that they've pretty much covered that one unless they do the Funeral Pyre Vader.

Well, maybe someday I will return to the visual wish list and finish it. For now, the list here will be a valuable tool for collectors, and hopefully, for Hasbro.
