What happened to Maxim magazine?

I was at the store on base looking through magazines and happened upon Maxim. When I picked it up the damn thing was no bigger than the issue of SW Insider I had. What the hell happened? I remember Maxim being at least two times the size of the issue I picked up. I didn't even bother to skim through it to see what was in it (it was one part disgust and another part me seeing the newest issue of CoCo...).

I haven't read Maxim in a few years now. The last one I picked up was when Sin City came out (because it had a Frank Miller Sin City cover). Don't think I even read the issue though.

On a side note, they finally wised up and canned Maxim Lite, or Stuff, as it was officially called.

I was not aware of that.

Maxim started getting lame a couple years so I let my subscription lapse. I've looked a couple issues since and have been anything but impressed with it. It used to be a funny "every man's" magazine, but now its become little more than GQ for those with a slight sense of humor.

Since I recently let my Blender subscription lapse I've completely dropped all the Maxim family of magazines. Maxim was the exact same thing month after month and when it came to Blender I found myself flipping through it maybe once (if at all) and when I did I realized how much I hated current music and few names/faces/songs I actually recognized anymore. I guess I'm old.

And the cancellation of Stuff was far overdue, IMO.
October was the last issue apparently.
Wiki says "The U.S. edition ceased to exist with the October 2007 issue when it returned to being a special section inside Maxim Magazine."

Blender has always been sort of a joke as far as music goes. When they sing the praises of some trollop like Britney, they lose credibility. A lot like every other stupid industry-run music magazine has done.

I think it was Blender that ran a top [whatever number... 50, 100, 1138] rock acts of all time; #2 was... Marilyn Manson?!?

I also used to look forward to the jokes because they were, for the most part, original but of late they're pathetic 4th grader jokes that don't even get a titter out of me.
