Let's get back to complaining about excessive petroleum costs...
I saw an ARCO station here yesterday at $3.11 cash price.

It was $2.83 yesterday, $2.89 on Monday, and $2.99 all last week.

With oil at/around $70.00 a barrell and still coming down, it's just a matter of time before gas bottoms out.

Has anyone watched any old movies lately (20+ years or older) and seen a gas station in the background?

I saw Die Hard the other day when they showed Powell outside the Chevron looking up at Nakatomi, gas was around $0.73 a gallon or something.

It's down to $63 now and some are saying it could go as low as $45.

The article says gas would be in the $2 -$2.50 range but heck we're there now with oil at $63. I'm thinking we'll easily break $2 if oil goes to $45.

I don't think it's crazy to think that we'll once again see sub $2 per gallon prices again.

When gas crossed the $4 barrier, a lot of people finally called their bluff and said to heck with it and stopped using as much gas. Here in Portland, lots of people started biking, taking MAX (lightrail), and public buses to get around.

The problem is now we have to keep with what we've done once it approached $4. If not, we'll be back to that point and have made no real headway into going what's after the internal combustion engine. My wife and I basically only drive to get groceries and we did that once it went above $3.
