    So very jealous = me.

That is so awesome. Looks like you had better weather than Lucas. Those SW sets were from Ep 1, right?

Wow! That stuff is still just sitting there? Surprised they didnt tear it all down after filming.

    That is crazy cool!

Did you take anything to add to your collection? LOL!

They stay there fine, just some are vandalized by fans who wrote their names on the walls or vaporators.

I didn't take anything from there except a few rocks and such. No props, no parts from the set, I'm not a savage. I like future generations to be able to see what I saw in person. Everything is about how to feel there, not what to bring home with you...

I think it was Gus Lopez who visited Tunisia for the ANH ruins, found a few, and took back a Krayt Dragon skeleton bone. I hate to say it, but I probably would have too, either time or jerks will destroy it otherwise, and at least I know it'll go somewhere appreciated.

If everyone would take some "souvenirs" from the set, then there would be nothing left in a few years. Glad at least the set is far away in the desert, hard to reach by visitors, not so many companies make trips there and the Tunisian customs are harsh.

No, I know, logically it's more respectful, but pragmatically it's all going to be gone eventually because there's no security, no caretaker.

Not really. I can't see a fan trying to take a vaporator through the Tunisian customs. The small parts maybe are already gone but the larger ones still stand.
