I had meant to post that there were less than 400 quakes for the first time in a long time, here in CA. I wonder if the pressure was building up across the Pacific Ocean.

About 60 more new quakes over the last week or so, mainly in southern CA. Nothing large (biggest was about 3.7 on the Richter), but more little ones in the same areas.

Seems to have about 100 new earthquakes in the last week: mainly on the CA/NV border south of Tahoe and the stripe down the state that follows our most famous fault (no, not electing the Governator... San Andreas).

Now the site shows over 700 in the last week, up from under 400 about 10+ days ago. Hmm...

I don't know if it's just because I'm home more now that it's summer break, but I seem to be feeling earthquakes more. And the geological website does show more small ones (2.0 or under) in the Inland area lately. I had a dream last night that I was in church and someone was on the microphone telling the congregation to not be afraid, as the building was shaking. Am I a conduit for Mother Nature?

The CA/NV site quake map shows the most recent earthquakes all along the route I plan to drive (I-5 north going, SR 395 south returning) to visit my dad in Reno in a few weeks. From Mommy Nature, the Woman in Black: "I once shook a man in Reno, just to watch him die."

BCJ: Please check with Caltrans before taking I-5! There's a lot of construction going on (especially in my county) and there are both north and south lane closures down to one lane in some areas (unless time is not a factor for you) along the route. Huge delays! It's been recommended to take Hwy. 99, especially for northbound traffic, to avoid the mess! Caltrans should have areas affected and detours listed. Have a safe trip!

Should I stop by your area on the way? Perhaps for a police escort? :hinthintwinkwink:

North-bound on 99 was fine; but south-bound US-395 (from south of the Bishop area) was awful; one lane highways... what, is this the early 20th century?

I travelled through some of the cities that appear on the "most recent earthquakes" website: Tom's Place, Bishop, Big Pine, etc.

Haven't been many 4.0+ quakes, but there's been a steady increase in the total number of smaller ones lately.
