The now-popular "Mix Channel" on various Viacom-owned stations (Comedy Central, Spike, Nickelodeon, MTV, etc.), as DirecTV and they battle over their $$$.

Watching the Curiosity landing on Mars on NASA TV....it's down safely!!!!! Waiting for the first news conference to start....

As they've been saying, "let the science begin!"

PBS has been re-airing Ken Burns' The War. I've watched a couple of eps. Enjoyed them very much.

WKRP in Cincinnati. One of the retro TV stations airs reruns, and boy, I've forgotten how funny that show was.

My all-time favorite ep is on in the next week or so: the bomb at the transmitter. It's the phone cops!

I got sucked into those World's Dumbest... shows lately. Now it's World's Smartest Inventions 9, and I cannot believe these are actual items for sale on TV. Or, that there have now been at least nine shows about it.

Doing my darndest to get the DVR down to 50 percent before I leave for C6; don't know if that will happen. The 60-percentile range might be better. So I've been watching a lot of history programs I'd recorded.

Nova: Killer Subs at Pearl Harbor. An investigation if a Japanese midget sub was successful in its mission on Dec. 7. Very interesting.

Pearl Harbor: the first 24 hours. Another interesting one with more of a focus on the political reaction in Washington than to the events in Pearl Harbor.

Also watched several Civil War specials that aired on PBS.

Here's a scan of an ad in this week's newspaper, about the recent Dish dropping of channels AMC, IFC, and WE. If the picture doesn't load, if offers "some perfectly good shows you can watch now" that are comparable, in their views.

    Instead of:
Breaking Bad ... they recommend Tia & Tamera
Mad Men ... it's Bikini Barbershop: Jersey
The Walking Dead ... try Big Rich Texas.

Really? REALLY?!? Has the word comparable been replaced by Bizaaro Dictionary?
