    Is star wars dead?

    What do you think?

  2. #2
If Star Wars couldn't die from '83 to the mid-90's with only 3 movies and an iffy holiday special to go on, it's not going to die with 6 movies, an iffy holiday special and 2 cartoons. Even if the everlasting driving force of Star Wars to the public - Hasbro's merchandise - were to end, it would still live on quite well.
"Hokey packaging and ancient gimmicks are no match for good detail on your figure, kid."
"I am a Klingot from Oklahoma in human boy form."
"We came, we saw, we conquered... We, woke up!"

Star Wars is like The Grimace. Nothing can kill it.

No more than it's ever been. I don't think the Clone Wars cartoon is any worse than some of the **** that was put out in the 80's and 90's. Yeah, it's not as popular as in a movie year, but it wasn't from 1983-1997 either.

Is it dead? Not hardly, it was the top-selling toy brand last year.
Darth Vader is becoming the Mickey Mouse of Star Wars.

Kylo Ren - came from Space Brooklyn, although he moved to Space Williamsburg before it was trendy.

The use of a lightsaber does not make one a Jedi, it is the ability to not use it.

there is lots of kid interest currently due to the cartoon. i believe that many of the original star wars fans have reached a point with their collecting that they are moving away from the core toy line. the new star wars geeks are those that experienced the original trilogy in SE form and Ep 1 in the theaters. i have no facts for this, just an opinion

Books always do well when released, considered a staple title now at Dark Horse Comics going on 20+ years., as mentioned, top selling toys, creates a lot of buzz whenever there is a video game release, on the net outside of porn and social networking creating a lot of hits when summed together, course the big asteroid crashing on earth might change all of this, but since that didn't happen today...
