Scotty (Galaxy Series) New Star Trek Review

I finally saw some of the new Star Trek figures here in Indiana, and could't pass up getting my favorite engineer before the film hits the big screen.

And what did I think of the new Mr. Scott? Well, there's some good and some bad, and some general thoughts on the new Playmates line. Read all about it here:

    Ouch, yucko.
Darth Vader is becoming the Mickey Mouse of Star Wars.

    "We named the dog 'Chewbacca'!"
The use of a lightsaber does not make one a Jedi, it is the ability to not use it.

I was afraid of this. Even worse I see you need 18 pieces to "pimp out" the bridge. 18 figs at 6.49 each at Wal-mart, or 6.99 from Target = too many sub par figures hanging around. I guess my Admiral Thrawn will not get the bridge playset we wanted.

I'm pretty disappointed about the bridge. The TNG one was very cool. This one looks like a playdoh mat with a couple of pieces on top of it. The Transporter is a bit cooler, but it even has add on pieces to make it "complete". If you're going to do a build-a-whatever, make it a thing unto itself. Not a requirement to fill in a playset.

I've thought of building a Niub style bridge to fit my shelves for a couple years. One of these days...
