SideShow Shocktrooper

Grrrrr. This is more than I wanted to spend, but I may yet "have to" get 2 of these. I envision my SideShow Emperor kneeling over my Hasbro Crispy Anakin (from the Ultimate Darth Vader set from E3's 12" Collection - and probably the only decent use for this figure in my collection - as a burnt and charred, correctly disfigured persona) and 2 Shocktroopers hurrying to assist their Emperor on Mustafar. (The Hasbro E3 Anakin came with 2 heads - regular (sucked) and xtra crispy (useful). His clothing could be changed into Darth Vader's gear. This was a good concept as a TOY but the sculptwork was first and foremost what the figure was lacking (Hayden Christianson's likeness that is).

As for different kinds of E3 Clones? Which would I get?

Utopau - have 1 already. Want Cody. I think I can pass on an Airborne.

Kashyyyk - cool but I'll save money here. No thanks (to Scout and Gree both - probably. I can tell it's already tempting me. )

501st Legion - I don't know. I might possibly be able to skip these, come to think of it. My Anakin figure is occupied fighting Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The StarCorps - maybe 1 and Commander Bly to go with Aayla. I hadn't considered this before, but I'd been planning to get the 501st until I started typing this post. Just now I realized that I didn't need them for what I'm displaying. Then again, SSC could always make Bail Organa in his speeder pilot outfit....

The Galactic Marines / Commander Bacarra - as cool as these look, I think I can do without. I have a few of them Hasbro Snowtrooper Style from ESB.

I never really like the candy cane look of the Shocktrooper as much, but I might have to get one. Just because I have the Sideshow Emperor.
I didn't buy the 12" Hasbro Anakin-Vader, but might have to pick him up just for a crispy Anakin.

It'd be cool if they made a pauldron and skirt so he could be Commander Thire like the Target Order 66 2-pk, though he could be without it according to the movie.

How much you wanna bet the next one will be a 501st, because we have the SS Anakin-Vader already, though I would rather have a Commander Bly for Aayla. He's got all the extra pauldron and skirt stuff to sculpt, so we probably won't see him sooner.

Its a great looking figure. If we wern't in a recession I'd probably go for it. However, I'm holding out for Cody. If Sideshow made Cody 1st then this figure I'd probably get it.

But Cody is #1.

Right there with you on the $$$ situation. Looks great, but I'm holding out for Cmdrs. Cody & Gree; would also love an airborne trooper. I never got Medicom's RAH shockie, so I'll probably regret my decision.

In one of their recent Q&A sessions, Sideshow hinted that Cody and the Airborne Trooper may be on the horizon (would'nt it be great if they were one of the big announcements at SDCC this year?)....as much as I'm enjoying the 212th Trooper...I hope this is the case.

I like the Shock Trooper...Lord Sidious needs an escort on display and this will look great...

I already have the Medicom Shocktrooper, which actually "looks" fantastic. I won't get into the annoying mechanical problems with it.

I also have the Medicom 501st clone, which again, visually looks really good. If I had to do it all over again I may have waited for Sideshow to release these (No matter what, Medicom's are not $60 better). But I'm not motivated to go through the hassle of selling these to get Sideshow ones.

From now on, I'm considering buying only commanders, with the exception of a Galactic Marine or Kashyyk trooper. Cody is a no brainer, but personally I'd love a Bacara. Sideshow though. Not paying $150 any more cause it's not worth it.

Today I was able to order the NON-Exclusive figure with the NORMAL stand.

I've decided to just buy 1 (one). Sometimes less is more.

There are troops where you usually want two - like if I were doing the 501st with Vader.

But with Palpatine, I really would like to see there being 2 Royal Guards with him.

A single Shocktrooper could signify Commander Thire and not detract from how I'll have Palpatine posed over the Hasbro Crispy Anakin (from Ultimate Darth Vader set).

If it's like the Utapau clone, it certainly comes with a stand. The regular black one the other Sideshow figures come with.

Considering the looseness of the limbs, Sideshow would be irresponsible to not include one. Fantastic looking figures, very poseable, but damn if they couldn't have been firmed up.

I was surprised to see the edition for this set at only 750! Wow...glad I grabbed one.
