Minifig Identification

After a lengthy hiatus of collecting Lego, I've recently been going crazy buying loads of minifigs. I'm trying to keep a database of my collection, but there are one or two I'm having trouble indentifying....

The first is a Luke Jedi figure, with black hood and cape, and flesh coloured head and hands (both hands).

The second is a Clone Wars Yoda, with a glow in the dark lightsabre.

Assuming they're not customs, I'd really like to know what sets they came from. Any ideas guys?

The only Jedi Luke figure I have with a black hood and cape came with 4480 Jabba's Palace. However, that figure has a yellow head and hands.

Since it's so easy to swap mini-fig parts it could prove difficult to track a figure back to its original source. Since it has flesh colored parts, it could be from one of the Magnet packs.

The only Clone Wars Yoda I know of came with the 8018 Armored Assault Tank (AAT). I've never heard of LEGO figs with glow-in-the-dark lightsabers. LEGO did make mini-figs with light-up lightsabers that they packed with certain ROTS sets.

There are a couple reference sites that you could browse too - Brickset and Peeron.

If they're yellow hands and head the other set besides Jabba's Palace could be one of the mini figures pack. The only set I can think of that would have both hands as flesh colored is Jabba's Sail Barge, but there's no hood. My best guess is that both are constructed figures. It's ungodly simple to do with legos.

BrickLink as other good source. They have a mini figure catalog and a parts catalog. Like Peeron and Brickset there are holes in these resources, but generally speaking the newer the better things are.

Thanks guys. I've been scouring Brickset, so assumed they were probably customs, but just wanted to check with the experts. I already had the Lukes from Jabba's Palace and the minifig 3-pack, but I want to upgrade as many figs as possible to the flesh colours. It doesn't bother me if they are customs, it's just to help update my database.

I'm surprised the glow in the dark lightsabre isn't an original SW piece, as it looks really good - maybe it's a Harry Potter wand or something, as it looks like a genuine Lego part.

I'm not sure I'm an expert. I know more than some and less than others.

A glow in the dark 4L bar (ie lightsaber blade) is genuine element. I looked it up last night on BrickLink. There's two sets that have this part, both racers by the way. 8150 and 7613. If they could get the colors right glow in the dark blades would be really cool. But I don't think I've ever seen a glow in the dark item what wasn't that green/yellow color.

Quick note. In the world of bricks Customs normally refer to parts not made by Lego. Things made out of Lego brick, but aren't from an official set are called Creations or MOC. Neither is formal definition or 100% universal. But if you see these else where you'll know.

Thanks for the info, that's all good to know. I've had Lego all my life, but never really collected it seriously enough to learn all the terminology. What does MOC stand for in this context? (I've been trying to work it out... mix of something? my own creation?) I've got boxes full of Lego, but have no room to display it, so am just concentrating on the minifigs.... mainly Star Wars and Indiana Jones, and I've also just bought a few more Harry Potter figs. They're so addictive!!

Oops. My bad. Yes, MOC stands for My Own Creation. Which can be terribly confusing on a site where it normally means Mint On Card.
