"Lady Swaffy" (as VT eloquently refers to her) is off to Michigan because her daughter (my sorta stepdaughter) went into labor at about 7:45 Tuesday night - about a week an a half early!
I'm stuck here waiting for the big news, but sometime today I should officially become a grandfather (sorta-kinda). Geeze, and I'm not even 40 yet. Sorry again, I'm just all anxious...

The baby was born at 4:56 AM on Wednesday morning. It's a girl. 7 lbs. 11 oz., 19 1/2" long. Her name is Mia. I've been up all night (since Tuesday morning!) and am exhausted. I'm going to bed. Good night, or morning, or whatever the hell it is. I'm getting too old for this crap. I'm a grandfather, for God's sake (well, sorta).

You've been busy. They say grand parenthood is great. You get to spoil the kid, but hand it over to mommy when the "dirty" work needs to be done
