Writer & sometimes director Shane Black is confirmed to helm the next Tony Stark adventure for 2013, after The Avengers. Besides scripting Lethal Weapon 1 & 2, he has a history with Downey, Jr.(see Kiss Kiss Bang Bang). The rumoured villain, somewhat confirmed by Jon Favreau, will be Mandarin.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was ok, entertaining, even cute, but it reeked of the Lethal Weapon formula, as did other Shane Black films Last Boy Scout and Long Kiss Goodnight. Plus, he was a writer on Last Action Hero, so that should get him banned from even going to the cinema, much less making more.
