For those who the above names do not ring a bell I'm talking about Amanda Lucas. I saw this story and thought it was a bit unusual.

I wonder if she's strong with the Force....
¡Que la fuerza te acompañe!
Go-to move is... [wait for it]... The Ventilation Shaft.![]()
"May the 4th be with you?" "Why yes, thank you for asking."
Is she any good, or is she coasting on name recognition? (Seriously; I don't follow MMA and have no idea. I'm just hoping she's doing something she has talent in, rather than having everyone let her do what she wants in something she's not, like Will Smith's kids.)
Tommy, close your eyes.
Her name might have helped her get her foot in the door, but ultimately her talent and dedication will determine how far she goes. A 1-1 record doesn't really say much at this point (other than her fights are most likely not fixed).
However, there aren't as many organizations that have women's divisions. Right now Strikeforce is the highest level she could hope to compete in; but that organization was recently purchased by the UFC (which has no women's division) so there's a chance that Strikeforce will have it's women's division cut leaving her with very few high level options.
I guess her dad might have a few millions just lying around collecting dust, so he could create his own MMA organization for his daughter to fight in.![]()
