I'm starting to think we are gonna get more then 52 figures this year, or Hasbro better slow down a bit with the ones that are coming. We have 27 figures out now, and there are 8 more coming out next month!!!

So that's 35 figures out before even the halfway point of the year. Leaving us 17 figures left for June-December? So that means we will only be getting around 3 figures a month starting in June, or they are gonna end up with only 1 figure release months.

Well come on, of the 27 figures out now, it's not like everyone bought all 27 at once on the 23rd. Hasbro's idea is to let people spent reasonable amounts of money, and gives them time to find the rare figures like Dooku.

True, and only 14 were actually planned for the 23rd, and so they probably met their quota earlier than they thought with those other 13 figures hence there being 27 figures on the 23rd. There quite possibly could be more figures, especially since Hasbro knows kids would go nuts for these during a movie year on Christmas.

I just had a thought to what Basker said, it depends on how they count their year. Many retail businesses count their financial year as Chistmas thru November. Many prevous years Hasbro counted the December line into next years lists. So the 52 figures could be meant for May - November, and then the start of the 2003 figures will begin in December. Would help explain why we got so many.

I think we're on track. Looking back at 1999, the figure release slowed down a lot after the initial sets. Which leaves us with a breakdown sort of like...

    May/June: Luke, Vader, Jango

July/August: Qui-Gon, Endor, Massiff, Orn Free Taa. Deluxe 3 & 4. Arena Playset, Acklay

    September/October: Obi-Wan 2, Han, Chewie, Palpatine, Djas

November: Padme, Maul, Anakin 3, Ki, Teemto, Ephant

    December/January: Final eight

Edit: I'm considering the last ones like the FX-7/Eeth Koth waves, which were 2001/2002 due to distribution.

Let's not forget, we got the Bo Shek wave, Preview figures, TB and SS, all the E2 vehicles and beasts as well. With all that stuff put together, it's more than we got throughout all the POTJ combined practically. So I won't doubt we'll see maybe a dry spell of no new figures from like August to November, possibly. Seems Hasbro shot there whole load too soon. Though there are still 6 figures we don't know of yet...

    Shot their whole load...... hmmmmmmm........

They said they were trying to make as much available for the release of the movie as possible. Possibly to avoid kiddies being disappointed that they couldn't find a particular character. Possiblt also to avoid the manic rush of both collectors and kids together which would cause a drought for both. This way we get our pick now and then we relax a bit giving the kids their go at the feeding trough. Then when the kids get bored later in the year and through next year we get fed again with luscious lovelies. That's the only way I can rationalise it for myself. Also, if hasbro are attempting to get the same all the figures out at once thing going like the vintage line was where you could go to a store anytime and pick up any figure from any movie, that'd be cool. I don't think that's their thinking but it must be something along those lines looking at the case assortments that are due out later in the year. new figures with old sort of thing. A more equitable way to ensure that everyone who wants one gets one. It might not get everyone what they want when they want it but at least people should have a fighting chance of eventually getting what they want. Now, if they'd just make sure that the cases are indeed mixed and not solid so that stores don't end up with peg after peg of the same figure and no new or varied figures I'd be happy. I found a TRU with four cases of solid super battle droids the other day, And the previous store I visited had not a single one. Get that sort of thing sorted and the hunt could become fun again.

May/June: dangling Luke, talk to the hand Vader, heads-up Jango and in-labor Mace.

Btw, Jargo, might want to edit something out of your post.

I knew I forgot somebody. And it should be 'final six'.

I suppose we can speculate about the last 2002 figures, that's always fun.

    I'd say it's probably

    1. Rebel Officer
    2. Unconfirmed Separatist
    3. Unconfirmed Droid
    4. Unconfirmed Classic Alien
    5. Unconfirmed Prequel Resculpt
    6. Unconfirmed Jedi
