    Bond,James Bond Toys!!!

I found this at www.figures.com,a brother site of SSG right here:
    http://www.figures.com/databases/act...ow_article=114

"Sideshow Toy has confirmed that they will indeed be producing 1/6 scale Action Figures based on the longest running and most successful franchise in cinema history, James Bond.

Sideshow has been awarded the rights to create 12" collectible figures in celebration of the 40th anniversary of James Bond, which will be marked in 2002 by the 20th movie installment. Production will begin at Pinewood Studios in January, 2002 and will star for the fourth time actor Pierce Brosnan.

Sideshow stated "We plan to debut the initially released figures at Toy Fair, in New York City, in Febuary, 2002."

The James Bond series began in 1962 with Sean Connery in Dr. No and has continued it's successful run through 007's George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and present day Bond, Pierce Brosnan. Each generation of fans has their favorite Bond, so who will Sideshow be replicating in figure form? All five, including main villains and some of the most prominent "Bond Girls". Sideshow admits "The range of characters we are planning will be extensive!"

Does that mean they'll only be doing 12" figures? what about action figure size like our Star Wars toys?

    Thoughts???

If done right, this could be a very successful line for Sideshow.

My initial impression is that this property is better suited for a 12 inch release, as opposed to a 3 3/4" line.

Boy, I hope these are better than those shoddy UK Action Man 12" Bond figures, those things are not so great.
Darth Vader is becoming the Mickey Mouse of Star Wars.

The use of a lightsaber does not make one a Jedi, it is the ability to not use it.

I remember trying to get one on ebay, those things were going for like $100 a piece when Hasbro was auctioning one off each for charity. They were NOT worth half that to me, so I never bothered.

I hope Sideshow doesn't muck this up, Bond is one of my favorite series, but poor Bond toys like those from Exclusive Premiere just peeve me off.

these will be 12 inchers. and if you're concerned with quality, don't be. sideshow makes excellent products along with excellent facial sculpts. it's my understanding that all 5 bonds will be produced along with certain villians and bond girls.
