Is there really a variation for Jango Fett that does not have writing on the jet pack? I have seen mention of it around but no real info on it..

you mean the preview version or the KE version?
I don't have the preview version yet but my KE doesn't have the writing if that helps

Boba Fett is the one with the variation on the Jet Pack not Jango Fett - Kamino Escape.
The Jango Fett - Preview figure has the variation also.
