Actually, there is a way to get out of the ending of H20 by explaining that it was Adam Arkin in the body bag, not Mikey. So Jamie Lee actually decapitated her almost dead boyfrined and not her brother.
JJB, post that Halloween spoiler please.

Spoilers ahead on Jason X, skip ahead 187-Maul

Binks, do you think the Nanotech thing is more or less unrealistic than a rotted corpse walking around killing people?
My biggest issue was the ending of part 9, but the images in the opening credits allowed me to gloss over that.

Actually you pretty much posted it Caesar. That is exactly what is supposed to have happened. She decapitated the wrong guy, so Michael gets away to come back for another sequel. I sometimes wonder if Jamie Lee Curtis was peeved about that, because she said that was the only way she would do H20, is if she could finally kill him.

Good point Caeser, but trust me...when you have been told over and over again how the real nanotech they are working on will work, it sticks with you. Oh, and I had no problem with the film not matching up to the end of part 9, for the same reason.

I just want to know why, if they felt the need to make another F13 movie, why not just finally put out this supposed Freddy vs. Jason flick? I can't stand the F13, but I've enjoyed the Nightmare on Elm Street flicks for the most part.

The Freddy vs. Jason as well as the Alien vs. Predator movies have both been held up so much its pitiful. Friday the 13th part 9 set up the Freddy Vs. Jason flick perfectly, but after A New Nightmare pretty much destroyed the Freddy Krueger franchise, it's been on the back burner. They need to get Freddy back to the wise cracking sadistic SOB he was in the other films. He didn't work at all for me in ANN. Why do they need to revive them though? Make the final movies and leave them alone.

I made an earlier post on this thread but oddly it seems to have been deleted or something.

They're also planning 2 more Jason movies, and rather than being Jason XI and Jason XII, they're being called Jason X-2, and Jason X-3.

I haven't seen all of the Jason movies, I only saw the first 5 or so plus 9, they were pretty great but it was an ok ending with 9, they didn't need to bring him back. He only drowned in a lake as a kid (I think that's it at least...), surely he would've gotten his anger out by now and just died!

The whole Uber-Jason thing is kinda sad... no longer is he a dead body though, now he's technically just a machine that's a serial killer.

Wes Craven's New Nightmare is cool, it's not a sequel but rather it works better as a stand alone movie.

Hey, I love the way they are working around H20's ending - at least it makes sense unlike the ednings of Halloween 5 and ESPECIALLY 6 Busta Rhymes is gonna rule in the new one! Taye Diggs and Thomas Ian Nicholas (from American Pie) will bit eit, no doubt.

My quick impressions of the F13 "saga"

1 - creepy at the time, I'm sure, but too tame by the time I saw it.
2 - creepy because of the Jason introduction, the guy wears a potatoe sack over his head.
3 - hockey mask intrduced, overall it's pretty goofy.
4 - my favorite, it has Corey Feldman as a kid and I related to that as a youngster. Pretty scary! And the X man really dies.
5 - waste of time. No Jason, but an impostor killer . . .
6 - kinda fun in a stupid way.
7 - eh, a rehash for the most part
8 - I like the Manhatten approach, it's kinda fun.
9 - BAD storyline, but John D. LeMay is cool.

about a week ago I went though my video collection (recorded from tv) and found some of the NOES movies so we went in the basement of a buddy from school and watched krueger 3 and ANN
my pal hadn't seen any of the movies and when we were done watching 3 and started ANN he started protesting about the stupid change made to freddy: he looks way less creapier and is a lot less funnier
why? just act like ANN never happened and continue the saga like it was at the beginning

a shame that low-budget horror movies like the original nightmare on elmstreet moives, friday the 13th or texas chainsaw massacre aren't made anymore today, those were TRUE horrormovies

The plot problems with Halloween 5 and 6 aren't really the fault of the films though Caeser, it was because of the untimely death of Donald Pleasence that screwed the story lines up. They cut the storyline all up, because of that. I'll post what was originally supposed to happen at the bottom. There also alot more changes to the original version of the movie. You can read them at IMBD.

There is an uncut version of 6 that is circulating around, that makes alot more sense from what I have read. Hopefully one day that version will be released on DVD so we can really see where the storyline was intended to head.

In the alternate ending Dr. Loomis shoots whom he thinks is Michael Myers. It turns out to reveal the identity of the mysterious man in black from the fifth film. He says, "Now the game's on you, doctor..." before he dies. Loomis screams with fear because as he looks at his wrist, it suddenly becomes marked by the rune of Thorn, thus making Loomis the new guardian of Michael. The film ends with Michael now donning the clothing of the man in black, thus opening the door for another sequel.

Nope, I just don't like the whole Thorn storyline.

1, 2, and 4 are a nice little trilogy, 5 starts off great even with the man in black. There's some potential heading into a 6th one (Danielle Harris apparently wanted too much $ to reprise Jamie Lloyd) but the whole Thorn thing with Wynn and the druids was too much. I know they referenced Samhain in the second film, and they should have left it alone then.
But I do like Paul Rudd in 6
So then we skip ahead to 7 (H20) and Jamie Lee is back. that's cool, because even though she's "dead" in 4 it's acceptable that she faked her death. But Jamie should have been referenced. And with Mikey, we're back to basics. No druids, no mad scientists, just the Shape and his relentless anger.
So when H20 came out 4 years ago, they touted it as a direct sequel to the original film. which is was, but the use of that nurse at the beginning and the brother/sister relationship really makes it a follow up to the first 2 films.

RIP Donald Pleasance and screw Moustapha Akkad for ruining the series!

Nice talkin' horror with you folks.

Jason X definately had its moments though
No matter how I die, even if there is a suicide note; it was murder. Cheers!
