How would you rate these actors?

Hey guys! I'm new to this wonderful site and would like to ask everyone, how would you rate some of these fine actors in the scale of 1 to 10, and if you can be bothered then tell a reason, why you rated them that way too, ok here goes:
    Morgan Freeman(Shawshank Redemption)
Sean Penn (Dead Man Walking, I Am Sam, Carlito's Way)
Brad Pitt (12 Monkeys, Kalifornia, Se7en)
    Denzel Washington(Malcolm X,Training Day, Philadelphia)
Tom Hanks(Castaway, Philadelphia, Saving Private Ryan)
Jimmy Stewart(It's A Wonderful Life, Vertigo, Rear Window)
    Russell Crowe(Insider,A Beautiful Mind, Gladiator)

Edward Norton(Fight Club, American History X, Primal Fear)
Al Pacino(Scarface, Scent Of A Woman, Godfather)

    Robert De Niro 10
    Edward Norton 9

Kudos for giving Russell Crowe 9 though

American History X was the only movie I really liked him in, everything else I've seen is good but not outstanding.

i've never liked rating things on a scale of 1 to 10. either i like something, or i don't. rating things always reminds me of those psychological exams employers give after an interview, to see if you're a nut or anti-social, or not the "team" type.

i think all the actors you listed are great, and have seen almost all their films, with exception of jimmy stewart(i've just seen a few of his movies).

if i had to rate them, i'd give them all at least an 8.

did i get the job? ...oh, there is no openings?...o.k.

Morgan Freeman - 5 - overrated, in my opinion/seems to play most roles the same.

Johnny Depp - 8+ - I dont want to like him, but he consistently exceeds my expectations.

Sean Penn - 8.5 - He's done some remarkable work, I especially liked him in Carlito's Way.

Brad Pitt - 8 - He'd be a 5+, in my opinion, had I never seen Meet Joe Black and Snatch. Based on those two performances, he bumps up to 8.

Denzel Washington - 8 - sorry folks, I just don't see the better rating.

Tom Hanks - 9 - Comedy, Drama, doesn't always play the same type of guy in all his movies (like Arnold). I'd still like to see him in a traditional suspense film (maybe as a psychotic killer!) or in a sci-fi.

Jimmy Stewart - 9 - Anyone else feel any parallels between Hanks & Stewart?

Russell Crowe - 8 - Time will tell if Mr. Crowe can continue to turn in good work. I think he got an Oscar he didn't deserve for "What do u call a happy Roman?" but I think he wuz robbed of the best actor vote for "Beautiful Mind."

Marlon Brando - 7.5 - Maybe I've missed something, but the only thing I've ever thought he showed any major talent in was A Dry White Season and Don Juan DeMarco.

Robert De Niro - 9.5 - I'd give him a ten, except he does tend to play mostly the same type of character in most every movie.

    Edward Norton - 8.5 - I think he's great, and I 'spect he'll rate a 10 in my book once he's logged a larger body of work.

Al Pacino - 10 - He seems to give 100% in practically every film. I enjoy the heck outta his stuff!

Kevin Spacey - 9 - If he'd keep his dumb@55 liberal mouth shut in interviews, I'd give a higher rating.

    whaddabout:
Gary Oldman - 9.5 - Best character actor working today, including Jack!

Anthony Hopkins - 10+ - hands down, the best actor working today, in my opinion. But if he does another movie with Chris Rock, I'll drop him to a 6.

Chris Rock - ZERO - would someone PLEASE drop a boulder on this guy? And while I'm on a rant, when did it become a movie "Formula" for every comedy to feature a wise-cracking african american? It's just demeaning, in my opinion.

    Vincent D'Onofrio - 8.5 - I really like this guy's acting.

I guess that's all for now...

Hey Swaffy, you may take interest in the upcoming Road to Perdition starring Tom Hanks as a hit man in the employ of Paul Newman. Looks interesting, since Tom's son witnesses a killing . . .
