Didnt they already make a live action movie years ago? If not then they should really do something with the hair styles of some of the characters because if they dont they will look ridiculous. DragonBall Z is ok for a few minutes but like i posted in the OTHER section half of it is fighting and the other half of it is one guy telling another that he is no match for super duper stupendously spectacular blank or whoever and powering up for the hundreth time in the battle.

    New news!!!!! SPOILERS WARNING

[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][font=Times New Roman]According to Saiyanz Rage, a source within 20th Century Fox has posted the following:FOX is shooting for a PG-13 rating and a running time of somewhere between 3 to 4 hours. They are hoping for the DBZ movie saga to be 4 episodes long (4 movies). Starting in The Saiyan Saga, The Frieza Saga, The Android/Cell Saga, and the Majin Buu Saga. George Lucas' CGI company ILM has signed a contract to do the special effects. Some sad news, due to casting and scheduling difficulties, filming that was set to begin real soon has been put off until Summer 2004. The original Release Date. Once the movie is finished filming and all post-production effects are added in, this movie may not be out until well into 2005.As of right now there is no definite title. The most obvious choice would be plain "DragonBall Z", but FOX is also leaning toward "DragonBall Z: Unlimited" or "DragonBall Z: Fight For Man Kind."None of this information is confirmed. Cool... the show is a lot of fun, I've liked it for over 10 years, before it came out here, anyways...
It could be a really fun film if they try to keep it as "manga" as possible, not like the downright AWFUL "Fist of the North Star" film......
Something about him reminds me of my older brother, Rex.

Since noone else has looked into it here is the rundown.

Comes out in America on April 3rd 2009.

    • Justin Chatwin as Goku: A powerful warrior who protects the Earth from an endless stream of rogues bent on dominating the universe and controlling the mystical namesakes of the film.[2]

    • James Marsters as Lord Piccolo: The villain of the film.[2] Marsters explained that this incarnation of the character is "thousands of years old and a very long time ago he used to be a force of good, but [he] got into a bad argument and was put into prison for 2000 years. It got him very angry, and he finds a way to escape and then tries to destroy the world. The cool thing is, anybody who has seen Dragonball knows that Lord Piccolo transforms into a character named Piccolo, and that is a whole other ball of wax. [...] Heroic wouldn't be the wrong term by the end, but it's a long journey." He also confirmed Piccolo will retain his physical appearance from the anime. Marsters is a fan of the television series, which he described as being "the coolest television cartoon in the last 50,000 years [because] itís got a Shakespearean sense of good and evil."[1] Piccolo was intended to look handsome, but Marsters and the make-up artist chose to give him a decrepit complexion, having been trapped for thousands of years. Although the make-up process tended to take four hours, the first time it took seventeen hours to apply, and Marsters had difficulty breathing.[3]

    Dear god save us all.

This isn't based off of that show that they spend three episodes naming off and powering up for the next attack, four episodes firing off said attack, six episodes showing the opposing character getting slammed, then having him stand up and saying, "Ha! I didn't feel a thing!"

    . . . is it?

If so, count me out. I'd rather watch a live action version of the god awfull english langauge version of Sailor Moon than Dragon Ball Z.

    Nope, that is Yu-Gi-Oh.
What a waste of data you put on the server by making that comment.

Wow, that is bizarre. My late best friend who passed on in 2006 had been a HUGE, and I mean HUGE DBZ fan. We even buried him with his favorite figurine of Vegeta and draped a DBZ banner over his casket. His name was Glen WEAVER.

Haha, I just heard that they had to go back for reshoots. While thats a good sign that they actually care enough for going back for reshoots, I don't think it will help much.

I've been seeing commercials for this. While I've never followed the show, it looks pretty good. This looks like it's going to be almost as faithful an adaptation as the upcoming "GIJoe" and "Transformers" movies.

It looks like High School Musical with fights, judging solely from the ads I've been seeing.

Sorry, DBZ fans. Looks like there will be at least three cartoons being brutally abused as live-action movies this year.
    Tommy, close your eyes.
