Question Info or FAQs for the new TCG collector/player

I've seen the new WOTC TCG packs for EP2 and have become interested in starting up collecting the cards and playing the game. I've gone to the wotc/starwars website and read up on some of the playing basics, but I'm not sure the best way of going about to build up a playing deck. Does anyone have any good suggestions on doing this?

I've decided on getting the starter kit with the playing mat, instructions, and the two decks but I'm not sure how far I should go to get a good set of playing cards.

Also, what's up with the rare and uncommon cards and how do you go about getting them? By dumb luck?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Well... the rare cards come one per pack in the 11-card booster packs, and one per every three packs of the 5-card booster packs. And yes, that's lame and annoying. You get a few uncommons in each booster pack, but I don't know how many.

    Hope that helps!

What about the new Sith expansion coming soon? Do those blend right into the current game?

How do you go about preserving your cards during play? Do you keep them in protective sleeves? Or don't you mind if they get a bit worn?

I've been told that the Sith Rising set is supposed to be right in line with the AOTC cards. I don't know if they are from EP1 or from all the movies, but I've heard that there's supposed to eventally be a set (expansion or otherwise) for the OG trilogy. Whether or not the SR set is this set I don't know. I also don't know if it's coming as booster packs solely or if there'll be dark/light side sets like for AOTC.

As for protecting my cards, I have a collection set in 3-ring binder sleeves and actual playing cards that I don't care if they get thrashed (well, not too badly). I'm cowardly about using my rares in the playing deck since they're rare and some cost me a couple of bucks. I have yet to find a fair way of including them into an actual deck while keeping them in their hard plastic sleeves.

    Any suggestions?
